Why we say NO to CoD

Why we say NO to CoD - Threadly Store

Cash on Delivery is considered to be one of the most popular ways of the transaction in online business. In simple terms, CoD is a mode of payment where the customer pays by cash/card directly to the courier person or vendor only after the product got delivered.

Many times our customers asked us to provide a CoD option, but we gently said No to them. We know the fact that if we enable CoD as a payment method for our print on demand custom t-shirt orders, we would have made much more sale, and at some points, we may not happen to see abandoned carts. But still, we are saying No to CoD.

The primary factor why we are not providing a CoD option for our custom t-shirt printing service is the business model itself. Unlike traditional online t-shirt sellers, we are not selling t-shirts from our already printed inventory. Instead, we are sourcing quality t-shirts and printing the artwork uploaded by our customers via our online T-shirt Designer tool based on their one-off demand.

Let’s have a quick example, one customer looking for a custom printed t-shirt to gift their best friend’s birthday party. This customer chooses a photo of the birthday boy/girl to get printed on a t-shirt. And the payment mode was CoD. For an unlikely reason, this photo printed t-shirts got returned to us. Now, in this case, we can’t sell the same t-shirt to anyone on this earth, and only one way left with us is to destroy the product to save space of our inventory.

What if the t-shirt print quality is not good?

However, we realise the fact that sometimes, a customer will be curious to see the t-shirt quality and obviously the print quality. We have hands-on experience in printing and delivering hundreds and thousands of custom t-shirts. And if something went wrong, there are always ways to get a full reprint or refund.

How secure is Threadly Store’s online payment system?

We are not saving your credit or debit card details on our server. We use Razorpay to collect payment using their secure payment application. Razorpay is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant, along with frequent third-party audits and have a dedicated internal security team to make sure your data is always safe. So your online transaction is completely secured, and in fact, it is easy to use.
